I began my journey with Vephla University on December 12, 2023, with one clear goal—to break into the tech industry and secure a role as quickly as possible. I knew the journey wouldn't be easy, and it certainly wasn't, but every challenge was worth it. Around my fifth month in the programme, while working on one of my projects, I received an internship offer. It was a defining moment for me because it proved that everything I was learning at Vephla was already preparing me for the real world.
Never give up. Those three words from my mentor became the mindset that carried me through every challenge.
One of the most valuable aspects of Vephla's training was the opportunity to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams. Working alongside designers, project managers, and fellow developers exposed me to the realities of software development long before I entered the workplace. When I started my internship, I found myself working in a very similar team structure, and everything felt familiar. The communication, collaboration, and workflow all came naturally because Vephla had already prepared me for that environment.
Throughout the journey, there were moments when I questioned myself, but my mentor, Dev. Richard, was always there with guidance and encouragement. His constant reminder to "Never give up" stayed with me whenever I faced difficult tasks. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining an active GitHub profile and documenting our work consistently. Following that advice played a significant role in helping me secure my internship, as it allowed employers to see practical evidence of my skills and progress.
Vephla's demanding projects and strict deadlines were challenging, but they taught me discipline, consistency, and time management—qualities that have become invaluable in my professional life. Every assignment prepared me to handle real workplace expectations with confidence, and the structured learning environment pushed me to become a better developer every single week.
I'm also deeply grateful to Vephla University for awarding me a scholarship that made this journey possible. Their belief in my potential gave me the opportunity to pursue a career I once thought was beyond my reach. Looking back, I can confidently say that Vephla has transformed my life by giving me practical skills, professional confidence, and the opportunity to begin my career while still studying.
