My Success Story

Before I dive into the details, I just want to take a moment to reflect on how far I’ve come. It’s honestly overwhelming, and I couldn’t be prouder of myself. I’ve been on this incredible journey for just seven months with Vephla, and the transformation has been mind-blowing. If someone told me last year that I’d have a job as a product designer before even finishing my course, I would’ve laughed it off. But here I am, living that reality!

Vephla Uni’s learning structure is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It’s practical, project-based, and straight to the point and Strict in a very good way. You’re not just sitting through hours of boring theory, you’re actively doing the work, working on multiple designs and tasks, and preparing for real-world challenges. I’ve learned so much in such a short time, and it’s all thanks to Vephla’s approach. I can confidently say they know their onions (yes, I said it again!).

Now, let me share the moment that changed everything for me. During the early stages of our capstone project, we were tasked with conducting user research. This wasn’t just theoretical research. Vephla made it compulsory for us to do physical interviews. At first, I was a little nervous. Talking to people face-to-face and gathering their feedback felt like a big step. But I decided to lean into it, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I decided to interview a few people at my current workplace, where I’m doing my NYSC. One of the people I interviewed was the team lead of the development team. During our conversation, he was intrigued about my UX skills, and his interest was instantly piqued.

A few days later, he came back to me with a task. I still remember how nervous I was, but I poured everything I had into that task. I worked late nights, fine-tuning every detail, making sure the design was functional, user-friendly, and visually appealing just like Vephla Uni has instilled into us. Guess what? They were blown away! They loved my work so much that I was offered a role as a product designer on the development team. Just like that, my career took a huge leap forward.

I cannot express how grateful I am to Vephla Uni for this experience, especially for the capstone project, the intense projects and tasks, the tight deadlines. It wasn’t just about learning; it was about building real-world skills. One of the most valuable things I learned was how to work seamlessly in a team. That’s been a game-changer in my new role, making communication with my team smoother and workflows much more efficient.

Every single lesson at Vephla, guided by the incredible mentors at Product School, shaped me into the designer I am today. They taught me to focus on the tiniest details about users, to design platforms that are not only beautiful but also user-centric and functional.
